Although it is good to change the products of your routine from time to time, certain steps for a healthy, radiant skin need to be consistent throughout the year.
Achieving the complexion of your dreams is like taking the time to heal your skin both inside and out. It’s no secret that a healthy diet, abundant water and a night of good sleep are all factors that lead to healthy skin, but what about our skincare methods? ? These are the tips and tricks for skincare that promote healthy skin year round.
1. Always Start With A Cleanser
Regardless of the size of your skin care routine, you should always start with a cleanser. Skipping cleansing is a big no: without washing, your skin is clogged with a layer of dirt, giving spots and flaws to develop.
The cleanser removes makeup, dirt and other impurities from your face and prepares the skin to absorb the benefits of other skin care products in your routine.
2. Exfoliate Regularly
It is important to regularly exfoliate throughout the year to remove dry skin and assist to stimulate the production of new skin cells, making them radiant and smooth. And not only the face has to exfoliate but also our body! We recommend a gentle facial peel, which can be a little rougher on the body as the skin is thicker and therefore an ideal exfoliating glove.
However, it is important to have a good balance with the exfoliation because too much can remove the skin from its natural oils. Dermatologist David Bank quoted in Refinery29 said that excessive exfoliation “can lead to excessive redness and inflammation”. Avoid daily scrubs: Once or twice a week will do the magic.
3. Moisturise, Come Rain Or Shine
Oily skin? Dry skin? Combination skin? Regardless of your skin type, moisturizer is a must for your skin. Moisturizing the skin is essential to maintaining hydration and provides a protective barrier against dirt, contamination and anything we are exposed to. This gives our skin an appearance and a feeling of well-being. And that’s not all: regular hydration is the secret weapon against ageing!
In winter, lower humidity, colder winds and central heating can dry and irritate the skin. A thicker moisturizer is better in winter because it gives you a very nutritious treatment. Change over to a lighter moisturizer that does not overwhelm the skin in the heat and moisture.
On The Defence
The use of sunscreen in summer is perhaps the second, but what about the rest of the year? It’s easy to believe that in the colder months, or when the sun hidden behind the clouds, you do not need a sun protection factor, but it could not be further from the truth! UV rays are harmful and occur year round. Protect your skin with a broad spectrum sunscreen that protects your skin and prevents premature ageing.
